Connect a coding agent

Use the agent’s model settings

Configure its supported custom base URL, credential and model using the values supplied for your setup. Match the agent’s API format to the corresponding tlc adapter. An OpenAI-compatible endpoint and a Messages-format endpoint are not interchangeable.

Instructions you can give your coding agent

Configure this application’s model client to use the tlc endpoint supplied in my environment.
Keep its existing messages, tool definitions and response handling.
Read the base URL, model and credential from environment variables.
Do not print or commit credentials.
Verify one ordinary request, streaming if used, and the existing tool loop.

Verify the connection

Confirm the agent can receive an answer and complete a tool round trip. If you use a local adapter, start it before pointing the agent at it; restore the previous connection setting before stopping it.
