Errors
Check the HTTP status before reading a successful model response.
Common failures
| Status | What to check |
|---|---|
| 400 | The model provider rejected the request. Check the returned error and your model’s request format. |
| 401 | The caller credential or upstream authentication was refused. |
| 403 | Check access permissions. The gateway refuses browser-origin requests; call it from your server. |
| 404 | Check the endpoint and model. A format may not be offered by your configured adapter. |
| 405 | Check the HTTP method. The gateway refuses browser preflight requests. |
| 413 | The request exceeds the configured body limit. |
| 429 | Respect the rate-limit response and retry guidance supplied by the service. |
| 5xx | An upstream or gateway failure occurred. Use a bounded retry policy. |
Retry carefully
Keep the status and a redacted error message for diagnosis. Do not retry authentication or invalid-request errors unchanged. After a timeout or interrupted stream, the provider may already have processed the request.
Limits
Model limits and any access limits depend on your setup. Use the limits supplied with your access and the responses returned by the endpoint.
